Let's Meet Mr. Nine.............

First, a little backround info

Hello, My name is Fred N "Nine" Myer, but everyone calls me "Mr Nine". I"m a fifty something Senior Fabrication Technician. Basically I modify machines by building things that don't exist and add them to things that do. If you buy a machine that does one thing but you want it to do something else, I'm the person you come to. Obviously I'm talented with my hands since I make a good living at this (Not to mention lathes, mills, CNCs, welders, etc) In my younger days I built, road, talked, road, slept, road Harleys. In the mid 90's my love of bikes became so overwhelming I actually quit working, sold everything I owned, rented out my house and disappeared for three years. My bike and I road coast to coast more times than I can count. We road south in the winter and north in the summer. Met a lot of strangers, made a lot of friends. Slept under picnic tables, pool tables under the stars and sometimes under my bike. After building my last bike in the late 90's my attention turned turned from Harleys and long rides to Vettes and hanging out at home. Getting maried probably had a little to do with it not to mention my butt and back weren't as tough as they used to be. Besides it was time to settle down and get a job (Hell, my savings wasn't going to last forever) find me a life partner and write a new chapter. Still got my bike and I ride her now and then but I discovered a new love.....CORVETTES!

Boy, that's an old photo.......

Customizing and Personalizing My Site

I might not want a large amount of text on my home page if I want to guide visitors toward my other pages. Instead of text, I can add photos or interesting links. One of the first things I would want to do is choose a template that reflects what my site is all about. Colors and themes are a great way to reinforce the message and purpose of my site.

Behind the Scenes of My Home Page

Even if I don't put much text on my home page, it's a good idea to include hidden tools that will help me promote my site, so people other than my friends and family actually see it. For example, I could add meta tags, which are hidden codes that allow search engines to find my site. I could also install stats and a counter so I know how many people are visiting. If not many are visiting, submitting my site to search engines will guide more traffic to my site.
